The Month of Pink
Just call me Betty Crocker. I have been baking and cooking up a flipp'n storm these days. Its all I can do to keep our heatless house warm (well we do have five of those small plugger-in heater things). Hopefully the heat will be fixed soon, seems to be a billion things wrong with the system.
All my extra energy (that is anything that is left over from freaking out on my little hellions all day) is poured in to my ktichen. I don't have anyone to cook for ie. a husband, so I have been finding situations to test out my creations.
- I made four lasagnas. Two for a prego family at chuch. One for a potluck at school, and the other for Cara and I.
- Cella (Professor Bosma that is) was in town so I made spinach and ricotta manicotti and had her over for dinner.
- I had the Donkersloots over for a dinner of cream of potato and leek soup, and quiche muffins. Blueberry Devonshire Tart/Pie for dessert.
- I got a new muffin cook book for Christmas and inside, mmm, this amazing recipe for chocolate marshmallow muffins (with the mini coloured marshmallows). I sent those with my roomie Cara for her and the teachers she works with.
- Ohhh and if you need something easy and so delightfully yummy, I made this banana cake for the teachers at school. It has a cream cheese icing and walnuts. Amazing cake!
- I had some friends over for a dinner party and made chicken parmigana, potatoes, and a pasta salad. We had chocolate mud pie for dessert.
- This past weekend I made two broccoli cheese quiches for a baby shower for the prego family (it was a healthy baby boy).
- Then we had all our girl friends over for a little soiree cause the men folk went to a UFC fight. I made cream puffs, mmmm, and another blueberry devonshire tart/pie, and a straweberry pie.
I think thats quite the list for the last few weeks. It keeps me busy. Hopefully you are hungry now. Just think if you come to visit how well fed you would be! Speaking of visitors, my bff is flying in next Friday. I cannot wait for Kristen to get here. So many things to see and so much shopping to do!
It's February (in case you forgot) and I LOVE February. Definatly my favortie month of the year. I am going the next seven days wearing pink or red clothing. Even my onder broek. Well not my pants, although I would love to know what happened to my red GAP pants I had in highschool...This weekend a ton of us are going bowling for my birthday. I am so excited. My friend Becca and roomie Cara planned it. Should be a good time, probably up there with some of those Tuesdays in LeMars.
Well happy Thursday. The greatest day of the week, its almost the weekend, yet you still have a little anticipation and excitement. Oh and I play floor hockey on Thursdays. Its pretty awesome. Me and about 12 other guys, rippn it up. Well Tuesday and Wednesday nights rock too - thanks to American Idol, I know, I am ridiculous.
Oh and I almost forgot! I started a martial arts class last night. Awesome!
